State-of-the-art forensic lab misses another deadline

Johannesburg’s new forensic pathology services laboratory (FPS), has missed its fifth deadline, reported MedicalBrief (30 October 2025).
According to contractor Maziya General Services CC, he is still owed R85 116 567.43 exclusive of VAT.
Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) stated that it had submitted a proposal for additional funding of R87m for completion – which the Gauteng Department of Health had accepted.
In reaction to Maziya’s claim, the Department of Health stated: “There is no invoice for such an amount on record, and this information is false and misleading”.

3.	Access to Customer Information
	HEALTHMAN shall ensure that:
	3.1	access to, or disclosure of customer information will not be authorized without the documented commitment of the intended recipient so as to maintain confidentiality and the rightful use of such information;
	3.2	access to customer information by HEALTHMAN personnel, contract workers, consultants, service providers or suppliers will be restricted to the level of access needed to effectively perform delegated or contracted duties and/or the level of service needed to render a reliable and effective service to HEALTHMAN customers.

4.	Preventative Measures
	HEALTHMAN shall ensure that appropriate technical and organizational measures shall be taken against the unauthorized access, processing or disclosure of customer information
